What To Expect

Are they Painful?

Patients won’t experience any discomfort until later on after in the day after the braces have been fitted, this usually lasts for the first 5–7 days. This is to be expected and pain relief may be necessary at this stage. You may also experience some mild irritation inside the mouth such as ulcers.

Appointments

– Braces are adjusted regularly (8–12 weeks approximately).

– Patients are seen by appointment only.

– All NHS appointments are during school hours. Unfortunately we cannot offer after school appointments.

How Long Will My Treatment Last?

At your initial consultation you will be advised as to how long it will take to straighten your teeth. This will be an estimate based on your commitment to keeping appointments and minimizing damage to your braces.

Will The Braces Damage My Teeth?

The braces will not damage your teeth, but please be warned, if your diet or tooth brushing is not up to standard you can cause permanent damage.

What Happens When The Treatment Is Completed?

Teeth move throughout life even after orthodontics. We encourage our patients to wear removable retainers in the long term (night only) once treatment is completed.

Check out this video below which shows the process and what to expect at your first appointment. We look forward to welcoming you back for the start of your treatment.
